Natural Gas ETF (UNG) Channel Break **REQUEST** 7/7

To the left is a daily chart of UNG, a natural gas bullish ETF. We can see that back in the late part of last year and early part of this year we were forming a bullish channel (in yellow) that eventually broke hard to the downside. After making some new lows it started back up into a bullish channel (in green), but this time a little less dramatic of an angle on the channel. I think I might of missed the boat on this trade as it seems to have already broken out, but still might not be a bad trade if there is any pullback to get in.

Treasuries (TLT) Ready to resume trend 7/6

To the left is a daily chart of the ETF TLT which is basically bullish the long end of the treasury curve. The chart is a little messy so it might take a second to look at it, but basically we can see the retracements from the lows at 88.14 to our highs at 97.74 (in purple) and the retracement from 89.65 (low peak in trend which also produced a sub 0 MACD reading) to our highs again (in yellow). We can see price is just in the area where two levels from these retracement form a confluence at the 93.7-94.07 levels. We also notice that this area is the highs of the 3/16-3/23 date range. On 6/30 it put in a pretty good hammer through these levels and that hammers tail has held so far and today we start to break above its high. We can also see the green line which shows a trend of the lows matching up with the low peaks in the MACD histogram below. We are again seeing continuation divergence between price and the MACD as this ETF had seen on 4/10-4/11. I think this is a pretty good spot to get in on this trend and hopefully a ride to new highs.

FXE (Euro ETF) Short opportunity 6/6

To the left is the hourly chart of the FXE ETF, which is basically the spot eur/usd currency. I think it's finally time time to sell this pair again after a little bullish run recently. The yellow trendlines show the continuation divergence on the downward trend while the purple trendlines show some normal divergence in the most recent push up. I think this is the time to sell. Normally I would also wait for a canlestick pattern on either the hourly, 4hr, or daily chart to enter a new position, so I wouldn't call this a smooth jimmy apollo's lock of the week, but I think its still a good trade.

Interesting Volume Spike in SOXS (3x Bear Semiconductor ETF) 8:55AM CST 5/31

Interesting note:

SOXS, a 3x leveraged bearish semiconductor ETF, has done just under 100k contracts in volume already today (much of it at the lows near 54.50.

The daily average is 130k contracts a day. We are on pace to go way above that.

Is this the smart money making a bet that equities are poised to finally hold here and start to make a leg lower?

(UPDATE: 930AM CST - SNP500 is 50% from it's highs at 1337 and SOXS has now done 112k contracts 1 hour into the trading session we are 18k from daily volume avg.)

Stock Account? ETFs please

So in case you were reading our suggestions and thinking, well all I have is my TD Ameritrade account or whatnot, how am I supposed to be buying into all these markets? Well, ETFs to the rescue. From investopedia for those who dont know an ETF is:

"A security that tracks an index, a commodity or a basket of assets like an index fund, but trades like a stock on an exchange. ETFs experience price changes throughout the day as they are bought and sold. "

You can almost find an ETF for anything out there and etf stock encyclopedia is one of my favorite sites for this. Just beware that most ETFs slowly lose value over time and you should always research the exact holdings of what they invest in. So Goodluck trading.
